About Me: Mr. Petree
I am excited about starting my first year at Morningside Academy and my 13th year as an educator. My family and I recently moved to Port Saint Lucie from Indiana. I have been married to my incredible wife, Wendy, for fifteen years. We have two boys, Joshua and Isaiah. Joshua just turned 12 and will be sixth grader at the Upper School. Isaiah is seven, and he will be starting his first year at the Lower School. We are excited to be a part of the Morningside Academy family. We are also eager to worship and serve at our new church.
I received my Bachelor's degree at Indiana State University. Later, I finished my Master's degree at Indiana Wesleyan University. I later came back to Indiana Wesleyan University to complete the Principal Licensure Program. I enjoy playing just about any sport, reading, listening to music, and hiking. I absolutely love spending time with my family. We enjoy traveling, spending time on the beach, taking walks, competing in board games, playing on the Wii, and making one another laugh.
My favorite verse is James 4:8 - "Draw near to God and he will draw near to you." We become so busy in life and try to do everything on our own strength. This usually leads to us straying away from God, like a lost child. I love this passage because it reminds me to depend on God at all times. It urges me to cling to him each and every day and trust that he will provide for our every need.
