About Me: Ms. Lamar
I was born and raised in South Florida. I have my bachelor's degree in Arts and Humanities with emphasis in European History from Florida Atlantic University and a Masters degree in Secondary Social Sciences from Nova Southeastern University. I have been teaching for over ten years. I have taught 3rd - 8th grades. I began my teaching career here at Morningside Academy where I taught third grade for four years. I have been living Chesapeake, Virginia for the past seven years where I was an educator for six years and worked as a case manager for foster care during that time as well. I love to travel and have had the opportunity to go to Italy and China. I went to Russia twice with my church in Virginia where we ministered to an orphanage of abandoned children. I consider it a privilege to be able to mentor and teach children in my daily life and look forward to the many exciting adventures ahead.
My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:4-7 - "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
