My name is Cathrine Boutcher and I love teaching second grade. I feel very blessed to be here at Morningside Academy, and I am looking forward to an exciting and successful year. I am also looking forward to getting to know each of my students and their families. I would like to share some information about myself to help you get to know me both personally and professionally. I grew up in Kentucky in a Christian home, and I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was nine. I have been married to my husband, Mark, for twenty wonderful years. Our sons, Mark Aaron, 16, and Bradley, 14, are students at the upper school in 11th and 9th grades. We have been in Florida for eight years, and we all love the ocean. The first time I went to college, I earned an Associate's Degree in Business. But after my children were born, I felt God leading me to go back to school to become a teacher. I graduated from Western Kentucky University and began my teaching career in the public school system. I am certified through the state of Florida and through FACCS. I taught for five years in St. Lucie County at Mariposa Elementary and at Oak Hammock K-8, and this is my fourth year at Morningside. My goal for the year is to meet the needs of your child spiritually and academically. In order to help children succeed, parents and teachers must be a team. I plan to keep you informed about the progress of your child, and I encourage you to play an active role in your child's education. Students have greater progress when they see parents and teachers working together to ensure their success.
